DAY DRESS

I am wearing a soft 100 % cotton dress with a delicate pattern of pink and yellow flowers scattered across a gentle grey background. The bodice is gathered at the top with a silver grey luxury satin ribbon. The hem is trimmed with 100 % cotton grey cluny lace.

HAT

My sophisticated wide-brim picture hat was handcrafted from a candy pink marl coloured 100 % wool felt fabric, using some traditional millinery methods. The crown and brim are both made of a stiffened buckram base, covered with a layer of wool wadding. Such a process ensures the hat holds its shape perfectly and remains a long-lasting, high-quality piece of headwear. The crown of the hat is lined with the same material as my dress. The brim is edged with a dark grey millinery elastic stretch velvet ribbon, similar to the one around the base of the crown. Some grey velvet organza forget-me-not, pink silk buttercup, tiny yellow millinery flowers, and a grey feather provide an elegant finishing touch to my hat.
