DAYTIME DRESS

The bodice is made of a plain blue 100% cotton fabric and is self-lined. A cream 100% cotton fabric with a printed design in light blue and coral is used for both the skirt and straps. The straps fasten with a concealed popper, with a decorative light blue button on top. The hem is edged with delicate white broderie anglaise cotton lace.

HAT

My vintage poke bonnet was handcrafted, using traditional millinery methods. The crown of the hat is made of a stiffened buckram base, which is then covered with a layer of wool wadding and finished with the same fabric as my dress. A piece of broderie anglaise lace embellishes the join between the crown and the brim. The crown of the hat is lined with the same fabric as the bodice of my dress, and features some slightly gathered cream lace and blue pompoms. Three lengths of vintage intricate ruffle-edge plaited wheatstraw millinery braid were hand-sewn together to create a crescent-shaped brim, featuring a row of small mulberry cream paper flowers. My hat has a blue light ribbon integrated into the crown, which can be tied under the chin.
