As an artist/crafts woman, my materials are the life force of each piece of work that I undertake. I love to ‘experiment and discover’, whether I am creating an artifact or engaged in a restoration project or teaching others to explore their individual artistic possibilities. I love the process. My creative mind is constantly exploring new ideas, methods and techniques in order to achieve satisfying and successful results; whatever the project may entail.
I was often drawn to ‘broken’ objects or articles in disrepair, deriving great pleasure repairing and renovating these objects/furniture or textiles. It is always a joy to see a client’s treasured object seemingly beyond repair come back to life!
In recent years I have concentrated my artistic efforts by engaging in painting, using watercolour/acrylics/gilding, also including pen and ink washes. I have made a series of individual greeting cards and mounted pictures of all genres to sell. In my spare time I’m totally absorbed creating mosaic boxes/trays and papier mache vessels, some of which are here in my store.
I hope some of my work on the Crafters Barn site will be of interest to you. I’m happy to consider commissions and day courses teaching decorative arts courses. The courses to be held in your home with maximum of 5 students including the host.
